Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80% lean)
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, Italian breadcrumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly without overworking the mixture.
- Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake meatballs for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through, or pan-fry in olive oil until golden on all sides.
- Transfer cooked meatballs to warm marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes to absorb flavors and keep them juicy.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs for better flavor.
- Avoid overmixing to keep meatballs tender.
- For extra juiciness, add a splash of broth during simmering.
