Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs ground beef (preferably pasture-raised) – the star of the dish
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped – for adding flavor and moisture
- 2 large eggs – to bind everything together
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (optional, for extra savoriness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional, if tolerated in your diet)
- Herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional, for added aromatics)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped bacon, eggs, and cheese (if using). Season with salt, pepper, and optional herbs. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to your prepared baking dish. Shape it into a loaf shape, ensuring even thickness. You may top with additional bacon slices or cheese for extra juiciness.
- Bake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- You can add additional herbs like thyme or rosemary for enhanced flavor.
- Using high-quality ground beef and bacon ensures the best taste.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to retain its juices.
- It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
