Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, then whisk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, distributing evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe mashed bananas for enhanced sweetness.
- You can substitute chocolate chips with chopped nuts or dried fruit for variation.
- Store leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
- Freeze slices for up to 3 months to enjoy later.
