Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and sugar until smooth.
- Add egg and vanilla; mix until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto prepared baking sheet.
- Scoop a small amount of cream cheese filling into the center of each dough ball.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown.
- Let cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.

- You can customize the filling with fruit preserves or caramel for variations.
- Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes if it becomes too soft to handle.
