- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in dried cherries and chocolate chunks.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are crispy but centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute fresh cherries during peak season for dried cherries.
