- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs

- 1/4 cup milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme or Italian herbs (optional)
- Cooking spray or parchment paper for baking
Instructions
- Chop mushrooms, dice onion, and mince garlic. Grate Swiss cheese and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, mushrooms, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and herbs. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan, shaping it evenly. Make a small indentation on top and sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a crispy top if desired.
