- 4 cups of day-old bread, cubed
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Optional: raisins or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Add bread cubes and stir to coat evenly. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with optional raisins or chocolate chips.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and set.
Notes
- Use stale bread for best absorption.
- Serve warm with whipped cream or caramel sauce.
