Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the loaf of Italian bread or baguette horizontally. In a small bowl, combine softened butter with minced garlic and a pinch of salt. Spread generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
- While the garlic bread is baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, then add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and onions are translucent. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld beautifully.
- Remove the garlic bread from the oven. Spoon the hot Sloppy Joe mixture generously over the toasted bread. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
