Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a leaner version)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce or ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: chopped parsley, grated cheese, or chopped vegetables
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined but do not overmix.
- Transfer the mixture into your prepared loaf pan or shape it into a rustic loaf on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Baste with ketchup or sauce halfway through baking for extra flavor.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes, salad, or your preferred sides.
Notes
- You can customize this meatloaf by adding chopped parsley, cheese, or vegetables for extra flavor.
- For a juicier meatloaf, consider adding a splash of Worcestershire sauce or extra tomato sauce.
- Ensure not to overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
