- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until fragrant.
- Pour in broth and crushed tomatoes; stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then add broken lasagna noodles. Reduce heat and simmer until noodles are tender.
- Stir in ricotta, half of the mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot garnished with fresh basil and remaining mozzarella.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Use a combination of ricotta and cottage cheese for a different texture.
