Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, and egg. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and sliced green onions to create the Korean BBQ glaze.
- Shape the meat mixture into a loaf on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan. Spread half of the glaze over the top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from oven, brush with remaining glaze, and bake for an additional 10 minutes to create a glossy crust.
Notes
- Use lean ground meat to keep the meatloaf moist and flavorful.
- Adjust the amount of gochujang according to your spice preference.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts and easier serving.
