  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet; brown beef chunks on all sides. Transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Sauté onions, carrots, and mushrooms until slightly tender.
  3. Add garlic, tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Transfer vegetables to slow cooker with beef.
  5. Pour in red wine and beef broth, mix gently.
