- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp ketchup or tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a muffin tin by lining with paper liners or spraying with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, seasonings, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Use a cookie scoop or your hands to divide the mixture into even portions, filling each muffin cup about ¾ full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and browned on top. Internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
- In the last 5 minutes, brush tops with additional ketchup or your favorite glaze for extra flavor and shine.
Notes
- For a healthier version, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
- Feel free to add grated cheese or chopped herbs to the mixture for extra flavor.
- To store, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute or warm in the oven.
