Ingredients
Scale
- 4 burger buns (preferably brioche or sesame seeds)
- 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 pound ground beef or plant-based alternative
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Fresh basil or oregano (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Shape ground beef into four evenly-sized patties, seasoning with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness. Set aside.
- Sauté sliced mushrooms in olive oil until tender, about 3 minutes. In a separate pan or the same, crisp pepperoni slices for 1-2 minutes each side.
- Toast burger buns lightly. Spread marinara or pizza sauce on the bottom bun. Place a cooked patty on top, then add sautéed mushrooms and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the fillings.
- Cover with the top bun. Optional: microwave or oven at 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes to melt the cheese or use an air fryer for crispiness.
Notes
- Add sliced onions, bell peppers, or olives for extra flavor.
- Use high-quality cheese and fresh ingredients for best taste.
- Replace beef with veggie patties or grilled eggplant for a vegetarian version.
- Wrap leftovers in foil and refrigerate for up to 2 days for later enjoyment.
