Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme
- Sea salt flakes for topping
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit until foamy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface for about 3 minutes, then place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the dough and transfer to a greased baking sheet. Flatten into a rectangle or circle.
- Mix minced garlic with remaining olive oil and brush over the dough. Sprinkle with herbs and sea salt.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add caramelized onions or grated cheese on top before baking.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated briefly in the oven.
