Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well after each.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
- Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Let cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For soft cookies, do not overbake; remove when edges are just golden.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
- You can freeze dough balls for later baking.
