- 10 fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or mini mozzarella pearls)
- 1/2 cup of marinara or pizza sauce (use red food coloring for extra effect)
- Black olives (for pupils)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional, for added flavor and color)
- Toothpicks or small skewers
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Drain mozzarella balls and set aside.
- Cut each salami slice in half to create wrapping pieces.
- Wrap a salami half around each mozzarella ball, securing with a toothpick if needed.
- Insert a black olive slice into the center of each mozzarella ball to mimic an eyeball pupil.
- Optional: add a tiny piece of red bell pepper around the olive for blood vessels effect.
- Arrange the eyeballs on a serving platter.
- Drizzle marinara sauce over the eyeballs to resemble blood.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves for extra color and presentation.

- Best enjoyed fresh but can be prepared a few hours in advance and refrigerated.
