Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Assorted vegetables (bell peppers, carrots, cucumbers) for decoration
- Black olives for eyes
- Optional: crushed nuts or herbs for extra texture
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Transfer the cheese mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a large oval or rectangular form resembling a skeleton’s torso. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Use thinly sliced vegetables like bell peppers, carrots, and cucumbers to craft the skeleton’s bones. Arrange them on top of the cheese ball to mimic a skull, ribcage, arms, and legs. Use black olives or small vegetable slices for eyes.
- Decorate with tiny vegetable bones or herbs for added detail. Place two black olives or cherry tomatoes as the skull’s eyes.
- Refrigerate the assembled cheese ball for at least 1 hour to set. Serve with crackers, bread, or sliced vegetables for a spooky snack platter.
Notes
- Make the cheese mixture and shape it ahead of time for easier assembly on the day of your event.
- Decorate just before serving to keep the vegetables fresh and vibrant.
- Feel free to customize the decorations with different vegetables or edible accents for a unique look.
