Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of white chocolate chips or candy melts
- Gummy eyeballs or large round candies with eyeball designs
- Red edible gel or food coloring for veins
- Black edible marker or small licorice strips
- Optional: sprinkles or colored candies for decoration
Instructions
- Ensure all your ingredients are ready and tools such as a microwave-safe bowl, spoon, and baking sheet are set up.
- Gently melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler for even melting.
- Drop spoonfuls of melted white chocolate onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Slightly flatten each scoop to mimic the shape of an eyeball. Place a gummy eyeball or large candy at the center of each and gently press to secure.
- Using a red edible gel or a toothpick dipped in red food coloring, create veiny lines around the gummy eyeball for a more realistic and spooky look.
- If using candies without detailed eyes, use a black edible marker or small licorice strips to draw the iris and pupil directly onto the candy or on top of the melted white chocolate before it sets. Let everything harden completely.
Notes
- Store your snack eyeballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To keep them fresh and prevent smudging or melting, avoid temperature fluctuations.
- For longer storage, consider freezing them, but note that texture may change slightly.
