Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- ½ pound ground pork (or use all beef if preferred)
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- For the glaze:
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined but do not overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 45-55 minutes until fully cooked.
- Whisk together ketchup, honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard in a small bowl to prepare the glaze.
- Once the meatloaf is nearly cooked, spread the glaze evenly over the top and return to the oven.
- Bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize and form a glossy crust. Serve warm garnished as desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
- Ensure the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) before serving.
