Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef or turkey
- 4 large jalapeños, finely chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices crispy bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional topping: additional bacon strips or cheese
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, diced onion, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Fold in the finely chopped jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese evenly throughout the mixture.
- Transfer the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or into a loaf pan. Form a loaf shape, creating a hollow in the center if adding extra cheese or crumbled bacon for stuffing.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 50-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). During the last 10 minutes, top with crispy bacon strips for extra flavor and crunch.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute regular bread crumbs with gluten-free bread crumbs or crushed gluten-free crackers.
- You can use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to beef.
- Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
